QPIX is Queensland's screen industry and development centre, situated in Brisbane Australia. We are committed to developing independent production and independent screen production professionals in Queensland, and to linking the State independent sector with the industry at the national and international levels. QPIX provides a range of integrated services to enable the development, production and exhibition of Queensland film, television and new media.
QPIX was established in May 1997 as an initiative of the Pacific Film and Television Commission (PFTC), the Australian Film Commission - now Screen Australia (SA - and screen industry organisations throughout Queensland. QPIX is a non-profit organisation which must raise the majority of its operational costs through raising its own revenue as a company. QPIX receives funding from the PFTC and SA.
QPIX provides screen practitioners with access to equipment and facilities, low-cost production offices, professional production advice, information services, production opportunities, screening opportunities, key industry-focused training, and a wide range of professional development.
QPIX is generously supported by industry partners WARNER ROADSHOW, KODAK (Australasia), ATLAB (Qld), CAMERAQUIP (Australia), THE POST LOUNGE, CUTTING EDGE, SCOPE POST, MAGNA PACIFIC and THE POSTWORKS. QPIX is a founding member of the national network of screen resource and development centres, together with Film & Television Institute (Perth), Media Resource Centre (Adelaide), Open Channel (Melbourne), Metro Screen (Sydney) and Wide Angle Tasmainia (Tasmania).
By becoming Members of QPIX, individuals gain low cost access to such services as Crew Link, Actor Link, library resources, advisory services, equipment and facility hire, the Script Appraisal Service (SAS), the Industry Advisory Service (IAS), subsidised access to specialist training, and our unique Product Development Laboratories.
